RIPTIDE Guard was formed to help with the lack of  indoor ensembles in the Central Florida area, especially around Lake County. Many schools in the area do not field indoor guards but have excellent marching band guards. There are also many that have performed with their indoor guard but there was no independent guards, especially "A" class within a reasonable distance. Also the A class guards in the area were disappearing over the last few years so if people wanted to perform they had to travel South to Tampa or to the East coast of Florida. We hope to fill that  void and also be affordable.

Our first year will consist of concentrating on building a solid foundation and low cost affordable ensemble while still offering a World Class experience. To keep costs low, we will compete in the FFCC and possibly the WGI Orlando Regional. The second year we will evaluate and decide whether to continue locally or travel to World Championships.
